I did not ask my wife to sleep around - Odartey Lamptey

Former Ghanaian international Nii Odartey Lamptey has rubbished reports claiming he allowed his ex-wife to sleep around in other to get pregnant for him.
 
The former Ghanaian star become a public ridicule after he was alleged to have allowed his wife sleep with other men in other get her pregnant due to his “impotency”.

The ex-Ghana U17 forward ended his marriage in 2013 after realizing he was not the father of their three children, a situation which led to the divorce between the two.

Odartey Lamptey during an interview with Starr FM dismissed the said claim indicating he did not allow his wife to commit adultery.

“Never, never...which man in his right senses would say that,” the former Aston Villa player said.

“I don’t think if you are married to a woman and you leave for even two years it is not justified for the woman to cheat…I have always been with her in all the countries I played football so there is no justification.”

The 41-year-old shot to fame after helping the Black Starlets win the 1991 FIFA U17 World Cup.

Lamptey who also worked as an assistant coach for former Premier League campaigners Sekondi Eleven Wise enjoyed stints with the likes of PSV Eindhoven, Anderlecht and Ankaragücü.
