Concerned Persons Petition Otumfuo

The people of Adum Afrancho in the Atwima-Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have appealed to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to install a new chief for them.

In a petition to the King, the youth, assemblyman and other concerned persons in the area observed that the town has been without a chief since the destoolment of Nana Agyei Kese 10 years ago.

The absence of a chief, they noted, has given rise to lawlessness.

The Assemblyman Mathew Sarpong pointed out “we do not want to take the law into our hands. Therefore, we are appealing to the Otumfuo to install a new chief for us so that orderliness can be restored in Adum-Afrancho.”

In the interim, they asked that Nana Agyei Kesse be re-instated as Adum-Afrancho Dikro.

Those who signed the petition are Matthew Sarpong, Assemblyman for Afrancho Odumasi Electoral Area, Paul Kwabena Attah, Unit Committee Chairman, Duku Joseph, Unit Committee Member, Philip Arhin, Augustine Sarpong, Yaa Amanfo and Cecilia Nsiah.
