Support Teachers To Bring Discipline In Schools

Mr. De-graft Forkuo, the Asante-Akim South District Chief Executive (DCE), has called for parents to give strong support to teachers to promote discipline and raise academic performance of the schools.

They should accept to cooperate with the school authorities to give the children good character training.

He was speaking at the maiden school performance assessment meeting of the Juaso D/A Junior High School (JHS).

This provided the platform to discuss the school’s performance in last year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the way forward to better the examination results.

On hand to contribute to the deliberations were parents, teachers, members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), education officers and other stakeholders.

Mr. Forkuo reminded parents to closely monitor the academic performance of their children through regular visits to the school.

That, he said, was important to encourage the pupils to work hard on their books and inspire the teachers to give it their all.

Mr. Ignatius Ere-Der Mwinbe, the District Director of Education, praised the school for the initiative to provide a common platform for all stakeholders to share ideas on the development of the school.

He again expressed satisfaction with the consistent high grades scored by candidates presented for the BECE by the school over the past few years and advised the teachers and pupils to avoid complacency to sustain the good performance.

Mr. Osbon Boateng Agyekum, the head teacher, pledged continued hard work and discipline.
