The General Secretary of the People�s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, obviously riled by the failings of the state broadcaster, Ghana Television (GTV), has suggested that some of the structural edifice of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) that houses GTV be turned into a University, as it has consistently failed to utilize facilities at its disposal. Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM�s �Kokrokoo�, Mr. Mornah opined that GBC is incompetent in delivering their duties to the general public as the nation�s sole broadcaster. �Over the last couple of months, GBC has failed to telecast live programs it had promised the viewing public. GTV disappointed Ghanaians when they failed to telecast live the much publicized Ghana- Japan friendly match played in Holland, and the Ghana � Zambia friendly in London� Kwame, when you go to GBC, you�ll realize that it�s a huge edifice...if i had my way, we should it into a University,� he said. Mr. Mornah, who is a member of the Nkrumah Centenary Planning Committee, also alluded to the poor pictures and bad sound quality during President Barrack Obama�s historic address to the international world when he visited Ghana a couple of months ago. He, however, chastised the Information Ministry for waiting till the occurrence of yesterday�s fiasco before being proactive. The national broadcaster has in recent times hogged the limelight for all the wrong reasons with the latest charge being their inability to telecast live President Mills' address to the UN General Assembly, though it was much publicized.
