Sidelining Kufuor Will Result In 2012 DefeatKan Dapaah

Former Defence Minister and NPP Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah, says sidelining Ex-President Kufour would scuttle the partys chances of re-capturing power from the ruling NDC in the 2012 General Elections. He was, however, quick to add that there was no way Ex-President Kufuor could be relegated to the background as most of the NPPs 2012 campaign messages, will center on his 8-year tenure as President from 2000 to 2008. The NPP has not and will not think of marginalizing the ex-President in the partys activities, he said in an interview on PEACEFM News@Midday. The former Defence Minister and some other leading NPP Functionaries were said to have met with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON), a student group of the NPP, in Kumasi, where the issue of the role of Ex-president Kufuor in the party came up. Hon Kan Dapaah explained that he eulogized the exemplary leadership of former President J.A.Kufuor, and advised the students during the encounter, to emulate and aspire to be like the former President.
