How Do You Expect Suffering Ghanaians To Donate Cash To A Futile Venture? - Young Cadres Asks NPP

NDC Pressure group, Young Cadres has hit hard at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the ‘Elephant’ family launched its fundraising campaign ahead of the November polls yesterday.

The General Secretary of the group, Bright Botchway questioned the NPP in a statement, the reason for their fundraising when they [NPP] claim ‘Ghana is hard’.

“Interestingly, and rather hypocritically, this is a party that has continually claimed that Ghanaians are suffering and under so much hardship. If people are suffering and unable to make ends meet, how do you expect these same people to donate their hard-earned cash to a futile venture like getting the NPP and its septuagenarian flagbearer elected to rule over this country?” the statement reads.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer have once again demonstrated to the whole nation how inconsistent and hypocritical they are when it comes to principles. Being broke and lacking the necessary funds to execute their electioneering campaign, the party has launched a fundraising campaign targeting the ordinary Ghanaian. And this comes after their fruitless trips abroad to raise funds. They now suddenly think that the ordinary Ghanaian has enough to dole some out to support their unattractive party.

Interestingly, and rather hypocritically, this is a party that has continually claimed that Ghanaians are suffering and under so much hardship. If people are suffering and unable to make ends meet, how do you expect these same people to donate their hard-earned cash to a futile venture like getting the NPP and its septuagenarian flagbearer elected to rule over this country?

We, the Young Cadres of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have observed with amazement, the countless times that the NPP, a party seeking to assume the reins of power of this country, has been caught in this double game. This is a party whose flagbearer claims to believe in the Ghanaian, and yet he superintends over a cabal that goes to South Africa to bring in so-called security experts to train his security detail.

This is a party that will not cease to tout it's anti-corruption credentials, and yet creates secret accounts to hide money from its duly-elected party officials. Indeed, this is a party that claims to believe in democracy and yet has consistently suppressed dissent with the tacit endorsement of Akufo-Addo. Suffice to say that, the only thing the NPP is consistent in is double-standards!

Nana Akufo Addo presides over, undoubtedly, the most disorganized and disunited party in the NPP's entire history, just seven years after President Kufuor left the party in his care, and yet this same man has the guts to talk about incompetence in the way President Mahama is managing the affairs of this country. Charity, they say, begins at home.

If Nana Akufo Addo is such a good manager, he should first put his house in order. He is unable to rule over less than 20 percent of Ghanaians and yet, in his confused state, he thinks he can rule over 27 million people. Inconsistent in his principles; inconsistent in his thoughts; inconsistent in his criticisms - that's who Akufo Addo is!

One thing is clear from all these: the NPP is bent on lying it's way to the top. But the ordinary Ghanaian is now enlightened more than ever and can tell a lie from the truth. The average Ghanaian knows that President Mahama's commitment in ensuring that every Ghanaian receives his/her fair share of development is unmatched in the history of this nation. The average Ghanaian sees the numerous hospitals being built across the length and breadth of this country.

The average Ghanaian sees and travels on the various newly-constructed roads in his/her vicinity. Millions of Ghanaians now enjoy portable drinking water, thanks to the dedication of President Mahama. And these people will not be swayed by the lies and falsehoods being peddled by the NPP and it's lead actor, Nana Akuffo Addo.

Ghanaians have made a commitment, and that commitment is to see President Mahama retained for a second term to see through his good works.

Long live Ghana
Long live NDC
Long live YCA
