Settling Down To Business

SISTER CONSOLATA AGYEPONG, Headmistress of St. Theresas School, in Accra (in white veil), and Mrs Leila Tease, class teacher of Kindergarten Little Flower, interacting with kindergarten children on their first day in school. According to Sister Agyepong, the beginning of every academic year is an adjustment period for most children. This is because some of them are so attached to their parents that they simply do not want to be left in school. They want to return home whilst others cry. Sister Agyepong said most of the children are from different schools coming into a new environment where they have to wear name tags to be easily identified. These same children will grow into responsible adults who will manage affairs of the nation in future, she said.
