Asante Kingdom Has No Bitterness With The Akyem State True Ashanti Youth

A group calling itself the True Ashanti Youth (TAY) has waded into an alleged rancor between the Ashanti’s and the Akyem’s.

The group has stated categorically that there is no grudge between the two most powerful kings, Osagyefo Ofori Panyin II and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II– according to them, their recent ‘clash’ at the funeral grounds of the late JB Danquah at Akyem Tafo on Saturday was orchestrated by some politicians.

“We the True Ashanti Youth wishes to state categorically that the Asante Kingdom do not have any problem whatsoever with the Akyem State, therefore any attempt by any individual, group or a political party to stoke fire amongst the two respected traditional authorities must be treated with contempt” Sammy Dakwa Binfoh, convener said in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com

It has come to our notice that some elements within Ashanti Region has been contracted by the ruling NDC with huge sums money to stoke tribal conflict between the Asanteman and Akyem State.

The TAY is reliably informed that a group, led by the National Chairman of the United Front Party (UFP) Nana Agyenim Boateng, has been paid a whopping sum of GH 50,000.00 to embark on a dirty propaganda aimed at causing confusion between Ashantis and the Akyem State.

We the True Ashanti Youth wishes to state categorically that the Asante Kingdom do not have any problem whatsoever with the Akyem State, therefore any attempt by any individual, group or a political party to stoke fire amongst the two respected traditional authorities must be treated with contempt.

The Asantehene has shown leadership over the period of his reign and has related very cordially with all other traditional rulers in Ghana and elsewhere.

It is regrettable that these so called elements who claim to hold allegiance to the Asante Kingdom and have respect for the Royal king will compromise their loyalty by accepting money from a political party to do their bidding in the name protecting the sanctity.

What the ordinary Ghanaian and especially the youth of Ashanti are looking for at the moment is how to support Asantehene and his able Chiefs to bring development to Asanteman and improve the lives of the people.

We therefore urge Ghanaians to disregard any of such move that is meant tarnish the dignity of these great leaders of our land. These are two great leaders of our land who are affecting our lives positively in diverse ways.
