Education Ministry To Sensitise Public On Achievements

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has urged its Public Relations Officers (PROs) to project its policies, programmes and projects to the public for better appreciation.

Speaking on behalf of the Sector Minister, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, at a special meeting for PROs of the Ministry and its agencies, Mr. Isaac Biney, the Director for Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation (PBME), said that the MoE had recorded a lot of achievements that should be made known to the public.

"You should continue to be proactive and effective as PROs. Use the media to tell our stories well as a ministry with many agencies. Let's try to submit articles on the over 40 topics that were sent to you by the Chief Director somewhere in November of last year on the activities of our agencies and departments", he said.

He commended the participants for their good performance and urged them to continue to work hard in the best interest of the nation. "Failure to do what we are supposed to do would mean that we are non-performing in the sight of the public."

Established under the Civil Service Law 327 and PNDC Law 1993, MoE has the mandate of formulating relevant public educational polices and programmes with the help of over 20 of its executing agencies and boards, including Ghana Education Service, National Inspectorate Board, National Accreditations Board, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, and National Teaching Council.
