Kwaku T & D Black for Television

D-Black and Kwaku-T are arguably two of the hottest Hip Hop rap artistes in the country today. Desmond Blackmore (D-Black) and Kwaku Tutu (Kwaku-T) speaking in an exclusive interview with Myjoyonline said they have been together for some years now, performing in some major concerts like the Jay Z concert and the recent Busta Rhymes concert. The two have one album; Target Practice, released on December 25, 2008 and two videos; Move and Breathe to their credit. The video, Move has earned them a Channel 'O' Music Video Awards nomination for Best African West which they say they hope by Gods grace to scoop from Nigeria's strong presence in the category featuring some of Nigerias biggest artistes like Nice, 2face and P-Square. And they would be counting very much on votes from their fans to clinch the title. Votes to support their bid via sms text messaging are by simply texting Move to MTN short code 1443. The second video Breathe Is number one on the Channel 'O' music video chart right now and we hope it will make it to the Channel 'O' Awards and the MTV African Music Video Awards next year said D-Black. They said they will be shooting their third video Bust my Brain which features Nigerian singer J-Sleek next week and it will be shot by Phamous People. The duo revealed that they were about to start their own reality show called Life and Rhymes of D-Black and Kwaku-T and it will start airing on MTV Base in January 2010. They are also working on airing it in Ghana too. They said the 13 episode reality show is about them and it is a window to the life of D-Black and Kwaku-T. It will be about our music, what we do and what we did during the recording of our album. We started shooting it in July this year and it will be finished by December this year. It is part of the promotion of our new album. They are currently working on their new album which they said would be released in January 2010 and it would feature Wyclef, Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese, Reggie Rockstone and 2face. This album will be followed by their solo albums, D-Blacks Music, Love and Life and Kwaku-Ts Higher Life Chronicles and they will release them on the same day. Kwaku-T who represented Ghana in the second edition of the Big Brother Africa reality show and was the seventh person to be evicted after spending 70 days in the house commented that he was disappointed with Ras Wayo because he thought he could have done better. When asked if he thought he was evicted because of his patois accent, Kwaku-T said he thought Wayo could have been a bit natural (more Ghanaian than Jamaican)
