Call Your Boy To Order Elmina Chief Tells Prez Mahama

The Paramount Chief of Edina Traditional area, Nana Kwadwo Condua VI, has told President JohnMahama to call one of his boys in the community, Kwabena Badu, aka Maanoma, to order since his actions in the area could mar the relative peace that the area is enjoying.

According to Nana Condua VI, Maanoma has succeeded in creating factions in the NDC and among the fishermen resulting in skirmishes that could plunge the area into chaos.

Kasapa 102.3 FM’s Central Regional Correspondent, Baah Acheamfour reports that Maanoma is alleged to be using his position as member of the National Premix Committee to intimidate individuals in the area who do not support his cause.

He is said to be masterminding the denial of such people, especially, fishermen premix fuel to undertake fishing activities.

Nana Condua VI explained that his quest to broker peace among the feuding factions was misconstrued to mean his support for the other faction with Maanoma hurling insults at him in the town every morning using mobile vans with speakers.

The Elmina Chief lodged this complaint to President Mahama when he paid a courtesy call on him at his Palace in Elmina as part of the “Accounting to the People Tour”.

The fishing industry in Elmina, according to our reporter, recorded many clashes and demonstrations with some fisher folks sustaining various degrees of injury last year.

This was as a result of unfair distribution of premix fuel and also accountability issues concerning the sale of the fuel leading to the distoolment of the chief fisherman of the town .

President Mahama in response assured the chief that he will take a serious look at his petition and advice so as to maintain the peace the area is enjoying.
