Boateng Gives Barca The Edge

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has tipped Barcelona to win the Spanish Primera division after Real Madrid made the major signings in the summer. The 26-year-old Getafe believes the Catalan giants have enough arsenals to shut out their perennial rivals to the title. Boateng joined Getafe from German side FC Koln in the transfer window in July and now says Barcelona will be the side to beat in this season's campaign. He told Citi FM:"Barcelona is my best bet to win the league in Spain because Real Madrid makes the stars and the Nou Camp side play like a team and that is the difference. "They are a solid side and despite Madrid making so much quality signings, they will have Barcelona to deal with in the end." Boateng earned his first international call-up in Ghana's joint Nations/World Cup qualifier against Sudan at the Ohene Djan Stadium last month. The former Liberty Professionals player has had incredible stints with many clubs in Europe including Greece side Kalamata, Panathinaikos and OFI Crete. He also played for Swedish side AIK and Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem before moving to German side FC Koln.
