Limited Voters Registration: Ministers Brother Slaps Police Commander?

Brother of the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Collins Dauda, Abdallah Naaba has allegedly slapped the district police commander of Asutifi South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Chief Inspector Broni.

The acting General Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu made this known in an interview on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ Monday morning.

This comes days after the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi North, Joseph Benhazin Dahah was ‘severely beaten’ by thugs led by the same Abdallah.

Speaking in the interview, John Boadu said but for the protection he had from his ‘boys’ he would have been beaten up because “Abdallah came to me and boldly told me they will beat me up…and when they could not get me, they went to assault our constituency Chairman

According to John Boadu, “three days ago, students in the second cycle school in Asutifi south were prevented from registering and no one knew the reason for that action. The police commander for the area even went to assist the students to register and a brother of Collins Dauda, Abdallah led a group of thugs to stop the police commander from allowing the students to register and in the process, the Police Commander, Chief Inspector Broni was slapped.

They were holding canes whipping some of the students who attempted to register…the police couldn’t do anything; if they give warning shots then the thugs will also reply. In the process, our constituency chairman was beaten up and no one could do anything. No respect for authority all because a minister’s brother was their leader."

However, in a quick rebuttal, Abdallah denied slapping the District Police Commander. He also denied threatening to assault John Boadu.

According to him, it was rather John Boadu who brought ‘macho men’ to assault him and his group.

…he (John Boadu) gave order for us to be beaten but while they were beating us, God being so good, they ended up beating their own constituency chairman…I was beaten to a pulp. John Boadu was the one who gave the order for us to be beaten…I never slapped the police commander”
