Kofi Laing, host of Late Night Express and Fashion Guru on Joy FM, has advised gospel musician, Gifty Osei to take back the money she paid for the ‘mosquito net’ dress she wore at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Gifty Osei, on Adom TV revealed that she bought the $2000 dress from Dubai just for the VGMA.

Kofi Laing says it was a waste of money as the style was too much and the dress too large for her.

He made the comment in an interview with Adom Entertainment Hall last Saturday when he was analyzing some of the dresses some celebrities wore to the event.

“Even a dress costing GHC500 would have been nice and look more beautiful - in fact she has wasted her money because she didn’t look nice at all in the dress” he stressed. The “Aseda” singer, who made an appearance on the red carpet last Saturday, wore a white bridal gown over a long bridal sheer net.

It would not be the first time the Gospel singer is coming under criticisms from Ghanaians and fans for her way of dressing relative to the genre of music she does.

In 2012 and at the same VGMA, she wore a bra-less dress that also failed to elude the eyes of her critics.

On another occasion her hip-pad appeared too conspicuous as she performed on stage, leaving a trail of hushed sighs in its wake.

“Gifty Osei is very beautiful but seriously the dress didn’t work for her, she has to go back and take her money” Laing advised.
