Properties worth millions of Ghana cedis have been destroyed by Fredrick Kofi Asare (FKA) Company Limited, a real estate developer on the government acquired land for government farms at new Weija in Accra. The demolishing exercise which was carried out by the private estate developer, FKA Company Limited was assisted by the police and with a court order from the High Court signed by the Second Deputy Judicial Secretary, Mr. Samuel Yiadom dated August 27, 2009. But the elders of Weija have expressed worry over the demolishing since the case is still pending before the Fast Track High Court, over the legitimacy of the land should government revoke the executive instrument 60 of 1959 used to acquire the land of approximately over 2 square miles of which the company is also claiming a portion of 95.194 acres, purposed to have been granted by the Late Chief of Weija, Nii Anto Nyame II. According to some residents in the town, the demolishing exercise started on early Thursday morning and was led by FKA Company Limited and accompanied together with a bailiff and five personnel from the Ghana Police Service. �They pulled down several buildings both completed and uncompleted with a bull-dozer on the land acquired by the government for the mounting of mast for transmission by the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) without the mandate or authority from GBC. A visit to the site revealed the tyre prints of the bull dozer hired by FKA Company Limited to pull down the buildings at the site. All attempt to reach the Director of the company proved futile. Meanwhile, the elders of Weija have alleged that the order for the demolishing from the office of the Judicial Secretary with reference number FIFA 103/2009 signed by the second deputy, Mr. Samuel Boakye Yiadom is mind bugling since government has not yet revoked the executive instrument on the land and could have rather been handed over the Weija stool as promised by the ruling government. They have also expressed dismay that even though the case is pending before the High Court with evidence that the said parcels of land was acquired by government from the Weija stool as testified on court by Opoku Boah, a state Attorney on behalf of the land Commission, judgment was adjourned from June 12, 2009 since die. They appealed to the government to set up a commission of enquiry into the alleged sale of the Weija land to a real estate developer and to verify the authenticity of the court order used in carrying out the demolishing, which they claim was issued on August 27, 2009 and signed by Mr. Samuel Boakye Yiadom.
