National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary nominee for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Samuel Dzata George, has said he will continue to torment the opposition New Patriotic Party and its flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to Sam George, who is also a Presidential staffer, the NPP has over the years tried to create disaffection for him within the NDC and tried to portray him as troublesome and arrogant.

In his view, the NPP has adopted such tactics because he is frustrating their bid to return to power.

Speaking on the Point Blank segment on Eyewitness News, in respond to a publication about him by the Daily Guide Newspaper on Monday, Sam George said he will “continue to raise hell for the NPP”.

“If the NPP sponsored media finds me to be a problem for President Mahama then I deserve a pay rise because the NPP and its media surrogates would only find me offensive if I’m creating and raising hell for them. I can assure them of one thing; I will continue to raise hell for the NPP and its flagbearer in the lead up to the November 7 election,” he stated.

Daily Guide lied

A Daily Guide publication of Monday May 16, claimed that Sam George had gone to beg the chiefs of his constituency for some derogatory remarks he had made against them.

According to the report, Sam George went before the chiefs with a sheep and two bottles of whisky and knelt down for one hour and 25 minutes, with the intent to appease the chiefs but his plea was rejected.

The newspaper further noted that “considering his statement embarrassing, they [chiefs] have given him the condition to go back to the radio station where he granted that interview and retract the comments…”

I’m not an embarrassment to Mahama

But Sam George rejected the newspaper report saying he never knelt down before the chiefs. According to him, the photo of him kneeling down was at a separate event and that the paper only sought to create mischief.

He also rejected claims that he is an embarrassment to President Mahama and the NDC government.

“How have I been an embarrassment? I don’t think President Mahama is that indecisive or doesn’t know what is good for him and that if I had been that I would have been axed by now. Everybody is entitled to their opinions but not all opinions are valid. The question is who is having that opinion?”

Sam George’s stand-off with ET Mensah

There is also a strong stand-off between Sam George and the current MP for Ningo Prampram, ET Mensah, after he was beaten by his protégé in the party’s parliamentary primaries last year.
