Zebilla in the Upper East region of Ghana received the CPP Presidential campaign tour of “Apam foforↄ” on Monday, 16th May 2016.
Led by the Party’s Chairman and Leader, the entourage of the Presidential Candidate, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet were greeted into the Upper East commercial town of Zebilla by the Party’s regional executives and the Parliamentary hopeful for the Zebilla Constituency.
This leg of the tour was called “Kab pal” as “Apam foforↄ” translates into the local Kusal language of the people. Upon paying a courtesy call on the chief, a mini rally was held to introduce the Parliamentary candidate, a teacher, Benjamin Anafo officially to the mostly youthful crowd.
At the rally grounds, Mr. Greenstreet spoke about the hope that “Kab pal” offered to Ghana and the people of Zebilla. “Considering our population compared to our abundant natural resource wealth spread all over the country: fertile lands, valuable minerals, oil in commercial quantities, highly rated human capital and our strategic location at the heart of the world, we cannot afford to continue living the paradox of poverty in the midst of abundance, and scarcity when there is plenty. That must end!” charged Greenstreet said.
“It would only end if and when we change the way we do things. When we change the way we vote. We cannot continue on the same path and expect any different results. That is why we have come to you in humility with “Apam foforↄ”.
He admonished the persons with disabilities present never to resign to their fate but remember that in this world anything could happen to anyone at any point. “It is not how you fall down that counts but how you get up. The most important thing is how one responds to what happens to you. We all face one disability or another. Don’t give up! Never berate yourself for your situation. God is in control”.
Prof. Edmund Delle assured the youth that the Party was for them and that they should endeavour to emulate the examples of selflessness, dedication, sincerity, truthfulness and sacrifice.
He implored the Party executives to give the Parliamentary candidate the maximum push. ”Victory awaits us come November 7. There is victory for us!” He concluded with the Party’s song.
From Zebilla the team proceeded to Bolgatanga where another mini rally was held to introduce the Parliamentary candidate, Latifa Abdul-Rahman, for Bolga Central. And then also went to greet the widow of the late colonel Zanerigu.
