Friends Of Atta Mills Reject Mahama?

Secretary General of the Friends of the Late Prof. John Evans Atta- Mills, Alhaji Adamu Alhassan Pierre has kicked against President John Mahama’s comments about The Late President during his recent tour of accounting to the people in the Central Region.

According to him, people including Chiefs in the Central Region are disappointed in President Mahama and are threatening not to vote in the coming elections.

In a statement issued, Alhaji Adamu Alhassan Pierre said, “We are not the only person who disagrees with him but most of the Chiefs are making sense with me.”

They also expressed disappointment at the way the Mahama-led government abandoned people believed to be working with Late President Mills, saying that most of them have been insulted.

“We received insults from people just because we worked with Prof. But we continued our work in truth and integrity as the Formal President Rawlins always preaches to us.”

He stated that, during the swearing in ceremony of the Late President Mills, he promised he’ll not take side with vindictiveness, back biting, and Witch –Hunting, but sad as it may be, these things are being experienced under the current government.

“The Father for all slogans did not work. Mahama promised to continue what the late president left but these were not done. We started the organization before Friends of Mahama, Neighborhood of Mahama etc started, yet we weren’t recognized anywhere and in anything. Everybody especially the Party echelons should compare the differences between them and the Friends of Atta Mills.”

The release pointed out that promises made to the youths, Party activists, Foot soldier’s & Party functionary who worked to see the party NDC come to power are left unattended to.

They said they are all angry and are not going to vote in this year’s elections.

“My recent visit to Zabilla in the Upper East region to console an ardent member of the Friend was met with much embarrassment. Some farmer asked about the Green Revolution Tractors (Libyan assisted program) which was seen during the early days of the Late President have all vanished and that program died off the system. I am well known to them so they came in numbers asking me questions about the party NDC which I am not an executive member to answer them” they said.

They said electricity & water bills are some of the major headache for consumers, explaining that back in the far North, people have decided not to use electricity anymore.

“Youths in the North are fed up with politic and will not Vote, because it’s going to be promises and nothing more than Promises. Those who are benefitting from this regime are friends and relatives so we’ll leave the Party work for them, we stay behind and continue with what we are going through.”
