Uncompleted Building Poses Security Threat To Veep

The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Dr Hannah Bisiw, has expressed concern about the location of a 2-storey uncompleted building, opposite the official residence for the Vice President at Cantonments in Accra. The Vice Presidents Official residence is currently being rehabilitated after the former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, moved out of the house. According to Dr Bisiw, the height of the 2-story uncompleted building which is said to be owned by one Aaron Aboagye will pose a security threat to the Vice President. She made the observation today when she inspected two government bungalows; one at Roman Ridge and the other at Cantonments which are being occupied by Civil Servants. It will be recalled that security reasons compelled Chief Kufuor, son of former President Kufuor to purchase a hotel adjacent former President Kufuors private house at Airport West in Accra. In an interview with PEACEFM News, Dr. Hannah Bisiw said the height of the 2-story uncompleted building is not appropriate for its location because it will enable occupants of the building to invade the privacy of the Vice President. She said her "Ministry will immediately investigate the granting of permit for the construction of the building."
