Parts of Accra experience severe flooding after about an hour of rains.
There have been no reports of human casualties as yet but residents in these flooded areas have lost properties.
Citi FM’s Kojo Agyeman was on the ground and reported that several houses in Adabraka, Sahara, Santa Maria, Odorkor Official Town and several others were flooded.
Residents in the area were seen disposing off some of their properties that had been damaged by the flood waters.
It was a similar story in suburbs of Darkuman where residents were trying to salvage their properties whilst gas stoves, mattresses, and some electronics were seen floating on the flood waters.
A visit to Odokor, Official Town, also revealed that their largest drain was choked because the residents had been throwing the rubbish in it.
Residents in Official Town who spoke to Citi News said they resorted to dumping refuse in the drain because they have no other option.
