ECG Denies Plotting With NPP To Make Gov't Unpopular

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has denied allegation that it has connived with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to sabotage the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

ECG has been allegedly fingered in a secret plot to cause public disaffection for President John Dramani Mahama’s administration. A publication by the Citizens Mail newspaper indicated that some management members of the ECG have had secret meetings with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the modus operandi of the agenda.

However in an interview on PEACE FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ with sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesse, Director of the Public Affairs of ECG, William Boateng said the allegation is baseless.

“It is never true; it is laughable but on the serious note there is no iota of truth in this and so I don’t know where this information is coming from….we don’t gain anything by hiding things from the general public. It is true we are having challenges but efforts are being put in place to solve them…” he said.
