REVEALED: Late NPP MP Had Plans To Open Up The Kwahu Bloc With More Industries

First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Umar Bodinga has described the demise of Hon. Peter Wiafe Preprah, Member of Parliament for Abetifi in the Eastern region as a great loss to the party especially the Kwahu bloc.

According to him, the late Hon Peter Wiafe Preprah until his death had planned to open up the Kwahu bloc with more industries after he decided not to contest again in the 2016 Parliamentary election.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Alhaji Umar hinted that despite the safe seat for the late Hon. Peter Wiafe Preprah, he chose to discontinue his Parliamentary ambition and allow the young people in his party at Abetifi to take over the mantle of leadership.

“The death of Peter Wiafe Preprah is sad and a great loss to the NPP especially the Regional level because in the Kwahu bloc, he is the most senior MP we have in the Kwahu bloc among the three MPs.” 

“The late MP had done a honourable thing by stepping aside in the next election to pave way for the young energetic people with vision into Parliament. He has set a record because he has a safe seat but he decided not to contest again; he believes Nana Addo win win 2016 election and he had planned to open up the Kwahu bloc with more industries,” he revealed.

Alhaji Umar Bodinga posited that the happenings of death in the NPP means to him that God loves the party to put it to test to see its faith in God.

He however requested for the cloth with the name “Afe Bi Ye Asan”, which literally means a year of bad omen to demonstrate the moment of grieve for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for losing its two most powerful industrialists and Members of Parliament in the Eastern Region.

The NPP MP passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
