John Paintsil To Be Arraigned Before Court Today

Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil  will today, Thursday, May 26 be arraigned before court over charges of assault of a police Officer.

ASP Afia Tenge, Public Relations Officer at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command said the ex-international has been charged with “stealing, causing harm, assault and offensive conduct on a police officer.”

Richlove, the wife of the Footballer made a case against him for stealing her car which the police in turn invited both parties to enable them commence investigations.

Police say  “there was a meeting that was supposed to be held between the two parties and in the cause of the meeting we realised that John Painstil was failing to cooperate and it was at this point that the District Commander ordered that we should arrest him and also take a statement from him.”

John Painstil, during the process “got furious and even had to hit the District Commander in the eye,” ASP Tenge said.

The former Black Stars defender has therefore been held by the police while they continue their investigations

This is not the first time the former Blackstars player had run into troubles with the wife.

Reports in February 2013 say Richlove suffered an attack from the husband as she was brutally assaulted by the footballer following a misunderstanding at their Trassaco House.
