Deputy Energy Minister John Jinapor has disclosed that President John Mahama has assigned Finance Minister Seth Terkper oversight responsibility of the Power Ministry.

According to him, Mr. Tekper is currently acting as minister in-charge of Power.

The clarification follows the confusion in the minds of many as to who heads the ministry after the resignation of the substantive minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor in January this year.

Speaking on Joy FM Saturday, the former presidential spokesperson stated that he’s not the substantive Minister of Power, adding that people should not mistakingly give him that elevation.

“The Acting Minister for the sector is the honourable Finance Minister Seth Terkper and he has been very helpful especially with the finance arrangements,” he stated.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor who headed the ministry resigned his post following his failure to fulfill his promise of ending the power crisis which adversely affected businesses and Ghanaians for three years.
