Nana Addo Is Known For Speaking Ill About Govt Without Offering Alternatives - Dep Min

Deputy Minister of Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has described the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a conventional politician who is stucked to his old ways of doing politics without innovative plans for the country.

According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo’s comment in Paris that Ghana now imports plantain from neighbouring La Cote d’Ivoire does not surprise him as his [Nana Addo’s] style of being an opposition leader is one without alternative ideas after highlighting so-called problems in the agricultural sector.

Flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says Ghana’s once buoyant economy, especially, the agricultural sector, has seen a sharp decline to the extent that the West African nation now imports plantain from neighbouring La Cote d’Ivoire.

Weak policies coupled with low investment, according to the opposition leader, have contributed to the huge losses in the agricultural sector.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, he is yet to come to terms with the fact that a country which grew 8.4% in 2008 without oil under President John Agyekum Kufuor, is now growing less than 4% despite the abundant natural resources, including oil in commercial quantities at the disposal of President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking at an NPP branch meeting in Paris, on Saturday, May 28, 2016, Nana Akufo-Addo explained that whilst some neighbouring countries have made giant strides in the last five years, Ghana, however, within the same time frame, and under the leadership of President Mahama, is going backwards.

But the Deputy Minister of Communication on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show chided the NPP’s Presidential Candidate feeds on lies from his propagandist Nana Akomea, the Communications Director of the NPP, making him speak with shallow mind without fact.

Nana Addo is conventional politician, always using the old method of doing things. Nothing new comes from him; there is no innovation....what he knows best as an opposition leader is speak ill of the government and not about what he will do differently when given the opportunity to serve,” he chided.

He stressed that “even with that conventional approach, when his propaganda Nana Akomea and his cohorts write something to him, he reads it just like that without investigating to ascertain the truth or otherwise of it. And so anytime one scrutinizes his statement, you can detect the lies in his statement.

He pinpointed that Nana Akufo-Addo’s lies were exposed when President Mahama challenged him to name one company which has moved to La Cote d’Ivoire as he mentioned that companies have moved from Ghana to Ivory Coast.

He therefore urged Ghanaians not to waste their time to vote for Nana Akufo Addo because he has nothing to offer them as despite his constant lamentation of hardships on Ghanaians, he has not been able to show how he will solve the problems he has raised.
