The suspect, who is also a resident of Olebu, near Ablekuma, was also alleged to have mixed urine and faeces and forced it down the throat of the boy in a bid to extract a confession from him. Briefing the Times yesterday in Accra, the crime officer of the Odorkor Police Station, DSP Baffour Apenteng, said according to Bakari Halidu, the landlord of the suspect, she had lived in his house for the past six months. He said Mr Halidu told the police that two week ago the suspect told him that her pastor had told her that the boy was a wizard. The crime officer said following the accusation the suspect and the pastor who is yet to be identified allegedly locked up the boy in his aunts room and subjected him to severe beating to induce the confession. The landlord reportedly told the police that on Wednesday he saw the boy on the compound with wounds all over his body and when he asked what happened to him the boy said it was his aunt who used hot iron on his body. The Crime Office said on the following day, the landlord found out that the boy had been locked up in a room. DSP Appenteng said the landlord later invited the suspect and the husband admitted the offence and that the boy would be sent to his wifes brother later.
