Learner Driver Rams Vehicle Into Six-Yr-Old Pupil

A lady who is learning how to drive rammed her car into school children in Sekondi/Takoradi, leading to the loss of a leg of a class one pupil.

Little Jeremiah Ackah, a six-year-old pupil of the Garrison Basic School, in Takoradi, on Thursday afternoon who was with a group of friends waiting for their parents to pick them after school suddenly saw the car coming towards their direction. There was chaos and the pupils run helter-skelter but the lady completely lost control of the car and hit Jeremiah in the process.

When teachers and bystanders rushed to the scene, they found little Jeremiah trapped under the car with his left leg completely cut off. The victim was rushed to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.

A doctor at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital confirmed the tragic incident to the media, on Friday, and said the victim had since been transferred to the 37th Military Hospital, in Accra, for further medical attention.
