Prez Mahama�s �Accounting To The People� Tour Hits Accra Today

President John Mahama is expected to begin his “Accounting to the People” tour of the Gt. Accra region  today.

This will be his sixth in the series of his regional tours after similar visits to the Central, Eastern, Western, Volta and Brong Ahafo regions.

President Mahama is billed to hand over some buses to a number of educational institutions in Accra. He will later interact with the Chiefs and People of the region while commissioning and inspecting projects powered by his government.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has also announced government’s intentions to build a railway line from Tema in the Gt. Accra region to Akosombo in the Eastern region. This he said will be strategic in the movement of people and goods to the Northern part of the country through the Volta river with Akosombo as the point of entry.

He’s courting support from the Indian government to make this a reality. This came to light after a meeting with the visiting Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
