Two Cops, Three Others Arrested Over Kwame-Danso Robbery Attack

Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have arrested five persons in connection with the robbery attack that led to the death of a police constable, Frank Adu Klu in Kwame-Danso near Atebubu.

The five include two police officers; Lance Corporal Asiedu Mensah and Corporal Solomon Abu, of the Goaso and Atebubu divisions of the Ghana Police Service respectively.
 
This brings to six the number of persons arrested following the arrest of the prime suspect on Sunday.

The late Frank Adu Klu was shot dead last Tuesday while he was escorting a commercial bus.

According to the Brong Ahafo Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawaih, they are still on a man hunt for other suspects who are at large.

He said “The prime suspect mentioned five names that accompanied him to commit the robbery on the market women, so the Police went ahead and arrested them this dawn. These people include two police men.”

According to ASP Tawaiah, the first suspect confessed that one of the arrested officers “sold the ammunition” to him while the other one “took part in the physical attack.”
