Kpessa Whytes Contender Sorry For Calling Him Evil

Newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Nominee for the Shai Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Region, Linda Akwele Ocloo, has apologized for some unsavoury comments she made about her contender in the just ended primary, Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte, acting Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS).

Linda Ocloo had in an earlier interview with journalists, called Dr. Kpessa Whyte, evil and wicked, over an alleged machination ahead of the primary, which she said led to an attack on one of her supporters.

But in a later interview with Citi News, Mrs. Ocloo said her comment was made in the heat of the moment, and that she is sorry about it.

“I granted an interview earlier, but I must confess I have to apologize. I’m a mother and I will continue to be a mother to all. We one family and we are NDC members so we have to unite and work to project the image of the party. So if he is ready to work with me, I’m also ever ready to work with him.”

I won’t struggle serving Shai Osudoku Madam Linda Ocloo has said she is determined to transform the constituency if she gets the nod in the November polls.

According to her, she will ensure that development projects are executed in the area. Linda Ocloo, who is wife of the late NDC Parliamentary nominee for the Shai Osudoku constituency, Desmond Ocloo, beat the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Dr Kpessa Whyte to win the primary held last Saturday.

She polled 5,156 votes while her main contender Dr. Kpessa Whyte managed with 3,372 votes.

In an interview with Citi News, Linda Ocloo, said she will not be disadvantaged despite her political inexperience.

“Shai Osuduku people wanted change and that is exactly what I’m going to give them. The people in the area especially the youth are unemployed, our roads are bad, and there are towns that there are no lights and places without access to potable water. These are some of the things we have to tackle, with God being on our side we will work effectively and that change will definitely come.”

She explained that “politics is different from any other job. It’s something you have to learn and trust me, I’m not finding anything difficult with it. Though I haven’t been a politician before, it is not something that is going to be difficult for me.”

The NDC’s Shai Osudoku Constituency parliamentary nominee, Desmond William Ocloo died in March in a car crash. His wife, Linda Ocloo however decided to contest the primary in honour of her late husband.
