Nana Addos 1-district, 1-factory Will Not Collapse Nana Akomea

NPP’s Communications Director, Nana Akomea says the promise by the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo to build one factory in every district may turn out differently in reality.

According to him, measures have been taken to ensure good management of the factories if established as promised by their party leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“We’ll research on why majority of our factories are collapsing since Kwame Nkrumah’s era and find solutions to that. There are factories in China, Korea, Taiwan and South Africa operating, we will learn from them to maintain ours,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM's morning show 'Ghana Montie'

With at least four months to the 2016 general elections, Nana Akufo-Addo on the campaign trail has promised to build one factory in each of the 216 districts.

He vowed to make industrialization the cornerstone of his policy of economic transformation.

However, Akufo-Addo's vision has been brought under scrutiny to determine its feasibility and whether or not it is merely a campaign promise.

But Nana Akomea maintained that – “You need an ambitious plan to transform this country and that is what Nana Addo is going to do. The one district one factory will not collapse.”

His comment comes after NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo’s recent promise during his five-day tour of the Central Region.
