Kotoko officially part ways with David Duncan

Kotoko have parted ways with Coach David Duncan after a “mutual termination package” was agreed on Wednesday.

A letter dated June 22, 2016 and signed by Board Chairman, Paul Adu-Gyamfi stated that:

“The Board of Directors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is pleased to announce to its teeming supporters and the general public that, the impasses between Kotoko and Coach Duncan has been amicably resolved and a mutual termination package agreed upon at a meeting held at the Kotoko Secretariat on Wednesday, 22 June, 2016.”

Coach David Duncan joined Kotoko in March 2015. He handled 20 matches in the 2014/15 Premier League and guided the club from the lower ranks of the league table to a respectable second position. He was also in-charge of Kotoko’s FA Cup campaign and only lost in the final under controversial circumstances to Medeama at Sekondi.

He as well led the Porcupines in the second leg of the CAF Champions League, second preliminary match which they lost 2-1 to Algerian side, Eulma at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

This season, after an impressive pre-season programme, Coach Duncan and his team, however struggled to win matches. He was directed to step aside on April 4, 2016 after Kotoko lost to Aduana Stars at Dormaa on match day six.
