If NPP Thinks Prez Mahama Has Done Any Wrong, Take Him To Court ...

The Deputy Water Resource, Works and Housing Minister, Sampson Ahi has described the allegations of corruption against President John Mahama by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as 'baseless' and 'politically motivated.'

According to him, the opposition party despite being desperate for power don't have any message, hence the allegations and insults.

Sampson Ahi's comments were in reaction to increasing pressure on President Mahama for accepting a Ford Expedition gift from a Burkinabe Contractor.

The Ford Expedition which was given to President Mahama in 2012 by the contractor has raised questions about the possibility of the President engaging in a conflict of interest situation.

The NPP has therefore demanded a bi-partisan Parliament probe into the car gift saga involving President Mahama.

But Sampson Ahi on Asempa FM Thursday said the call for a probe will be an exercise in futility.

He explained that both members of the Majority and Minority have all made comments which compromises their position in the Ford gift saga.

“The call for Parliamentary probe is just a waste of time and resources because the Majority say the gift is not bribe and the Minority insist it is bribe so what is the essence?,” he said.

Hon Ahi who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bodi constituency in the Western region maintained that the NPP is just engaging in 'mere propaganda' just to 'throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.'

“If you [NPP] think President Mahama has done any wrong, take him to court or institute the impeachment process and stop the ugly noises,” he fumed.

Sampson Ahi added that President Mahama remains resolute and 'no amount of vile propaganda' from the NPP will distract him from the Better Ghana Agenda.
