Roof caves in During Surgery at Effia Nkwanta Hospital
The roof of the main surgical ward at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital has caved in.
Doctors were carrying out a surgery on three pregnant patients when the accident occurred.
Doctors had to transfer the patients to the Kwesi Mintim Hospital for the process to continue.
According to Myjoyonline.com, one of the patients however died and some have attributed the death to the incident.
But the Medical Director of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Dr Kwau Ntodi has denied that the death was as a result of the movement from the hospital to another.
He said the lady could have died even if the incident had not occurred because she had a fractured uterus.
The other two patients are said to be in good condition.
Meanwhile, the debris has been cleared at the ward.
