I'd Have Said Worse Things About The EC Boss...But For The Intervention Of Some People I Respect - Ken Agyapong

Outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central is incensed by the barrage of attacks after reportedly accusing the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei, for trading sex for her position.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, the EC boss cannot play the victim 'when in fact she is moving heaven on earth to retain the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) in power'.

Gender advocates and colleague parliamentarians have condemned what they describe as reckless and misogynistic comments by the Assin Central MP.

Mr Agyepong is reported to have made the comments while addressing NPP supporters at Asokwa in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, over the weekend.

The comments of the MP, who is notorious for inflammatory language, has attracted the anger of government officials such as Gender and Social Protection Minister, Nana Oye Lithur and Foreign Affairs Minister Hannah Tetteh, who have called on the MP to retract and apologise.

But Hon. Ken Agyapong in an interview with Adom News’ parliamentary correspondent, Abednego Asante Asiedu said he has no regrets.

Rather, the outspoken MP said he would expose all the 'diabolic plans' of the EC boss if he is pushed to the wall.

“The woman’s posture and attitude is enough to let people know who she is. If you like dare me, and I will you show why Charlotte Osei is doing that,” he fumed.

Ken Agyapong maintained that, but for the intervention of some people he respects in the NPP, he would have said even worse things about the EC boss.
