Presidential Staffer, Dr. Clement Apaak has made a clarion call on all politicians to redirect their bitterness and anger to fight poverty and under development in the country rather than fighting one another with lies and falsehood to score political point.

According to him, though criticism is part of the rights of every citizen to contribute positively towards national development, it is different from making ‘reckless nation-wrecking statement’ and resort to the use of fabrications and pure lies to political popularity.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show to buttress the point of President Mahama during the induction of a new governing board for the National Peace Council into office, Dr. Clement Apaak averred that no country has ever developed without peace.

President John Dramani Mahama inducted a new governing board for the National Peace Council (NPC) into office, stressing the need for the country to direct its battle cry at poverty and under-development.

“Our battle as a country is not against our ethnic, religious or political opponents but rather poverty and underdevelopment,” he said at the ceremony at the Flagstaff House.

Per this point, Dr. Clement Apaak urged Ghanaians, especially politicians to fight against poverty which has drawn the country backward instead of fighting one another and using abusive languages to denigrate others due to politics which might resort to chaos in the country.

“What the President said is certainly what Ghanaians want to hear that the common enemy we should be targeting with all our bullets is fighting poverty out of the country . . . this should not stop us from criticising officials in authority to ensure the right things are done but it should be devoid of insults, defamation and lies against the officials,” he charged.
