Alistair Nelson Not PPP Man

Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has stated categorical that Mr. Alistair Tairo Nelson is not a member of the party.

In a statement signed and issued by the Director of Communication of the PPP in Accra yesterday, Paa Kow Ackon, the party set the record straight that Mr. Nelson “is not a PPP gentleman.”

PPP in the statement noted that it had come to the party’s notice that one Mr. Alistair Tairo Nelson on Thursday, 30th June, 2016 made “slanderous remarks” about how the Supreme Court Judges have picked a fight with the nation.”

It asserted that Mr. Nelson went on to accuse the Justices of attempting to “pour oxygen on fire and how he and his well-wishers will take control of the nation and rule it.”

“Media commentary on this Republican weekend holiday, centered on the threats and the deliverer who has been described in some circles as a member of PPP; including Mr. Stan Xoese Dogbe, a Flagstaff House Staffer, in a message he released on social media describing Nelson as a “PPP gentleman who has displayed great nationalistic traits by apologising to those offended” by the despicable statement.

But in a quick rebuttal, PPP asserted in the statement that Mr. Nelson-post was not a member of the PPP.

According to the statement, in all his media appearance on Montie FM and Radio Gold, Mr. Nelson has been “spewing invectives” on personalities of the party and has consistently stated that “he is NOT a member of the PPP.”

“We wish Nelson well wherever he will find comfort in this chequered political life.

“The PPP believes that to be able to win elections in Ghana, humility, a positive message and a dedication to serve the people should be the order of the day and so we call on all Ghanaians to resist the temptation to become unruly,” it noted.

…As a peace-loving, respectful, and purposeful party, the statement mentioned that PPP has sworn to be disciplined and show respect to protect the peace and stability we have all sacrificed to establish.

Against this background, the statement said “PPP expresses its revulsion at the comments made by Mr. Nelson, distance “ourselves from his statements and call for a swift and effective retribution by the Supreme Court to deter future utterances.”

However, Mr. Nelson has already apologised to the Ghana Bar Association GBA and management of Montie FM for his despicable comments.
