Whether CPP, PNC, NPP Or . . . We Must Deal With Them Within The Full Remits of The Law - Pratt

Kwesi Pratt has served a note of warning to the entire citizenry to be wary of their utterances and actions towards the courts of the land.

Salifu Maase, host of late afternoon political talk show on pro-NDC government radio station - Muntie FM - Godwin Ako Gunn and Alistair Tairo Nelson have been sued for making disparaging remarks about the Justices in the country.

The respondents are quoted by the Plaintiff, Richard Asante Yeboah who filed an ex parte application for committal for contempt over the comments as claiming they know the houses of the Judges and would visit mayhem on them.

Alistair Nelson allegedly threatened to kill the judges if the Supreme Court keep being on the neck of the Electoral Commission.

“I have told you that if this country should collapse, those who caused it will face our wrath. We shall start from their homes.

“Those judges who are trying to stoke the fire, I know where all of them live. I know where the judges live in Accra, I know their quarters; I mean the Supreme Court judges.

“I also know the High Court judges. Yes, I am telling you. God has a way of… If they like they should bring on something and it will start in their residences; I am telling you, in their neighbourhoods," he stated.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo', the senior journalist expressed disgust over recent comments by Montie FM Host Salifu Maase, popularly known as Mugabe, and other two persons for allegedly threatening to kill Judges.

According to him, the comments are very distasteful and undermine the rule of law in the country.

He wondered why the respondents would claim to know the houses of the Judges and further questioned their motives.

Addressing the issue, Mr. Pratt however cautioned all persons in the country not to demean the judiciary or else the law must take full course on the offenders.

Mr. Pratt however agreed to the law suit against the respondents in the case.

“From now onwards, anybody who will engage in hooliganism, any person who will contravene the law, anyone who will threaten people; whether you’re a member of CPP, PNC, NPP or anybody, we must all deal with you within the full remits of the law.”
