2016 Elections: Police Will Not Tolerate Political Impunity Kofi Boakye

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has said it will clamp down on the growing political impunity in the region.

Addressing the media in the region, the Regional Commander COP Kofi Boakye said the era where politicians in the region break the law will no longer be tolerated.

“The Police in the Ashanti region have resolved that we’re going to be professional, work without fear or favour, and be fair without discrimination to all political parties. And as Chairman of the election task force we promise to be guided by these tenets as we approach the elections,” he added.

Ghana is preparing to go the polls this year to elect a president and representatives in parliament. The stakes are high, leaving several people apprehensive.

But COP Boakye insists the Police will take steps to ensure a peaceful atmosphere, especially in the region in the lead up to the crucial polls slated for November 7 this year.
