Teacher Remanded Over Alleged Murder Of Husband

The Bosomtwe Magistrate’s Court has ordered a 30-year female teacher, accused of stabbing the husband to death, to be held in police custody.

The plea of Adwoa Oppong Pokuaa was not taken and she would make her next appearance on July 19.

Police Chief Inspector Alex Aidoo Mends told the court, presided over by Ms. Cynthia Blagee, that the crime was committed on June 30.

The accused and the deceased, Justice Adu Bosompem, a teacher at the Kumasi Senior High School (SHS), had been married for some time now with three children.

The prosecution said there was a misunderstanding between the couple on the day of the incident and that degenerated into a hot argument in the course of which, the woman picked a knife and threatened to take her own life.

The deceased attempted to disarm her to stop her from carrying through the threat but he got stabbed in the ribs
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Saint Michael’s Hospital in Pramso, where he had been rushed for treatment.
