With the recent increase in killings of African Americans in the United States, Nigerian pop star, Tiwa Savage who is currently in South Africa shared the photo below to show lend her voice to the #BlackLivesMatter campaign.

Some of her fans didn’t like it and trolled her for paying lip service to matters that don’t affect her while she ignores the killing in Nigeria.

In her defence, she shared to say ‘I don’t need to justify my support for #BlackLivesMatter‘.

‘Let us not let the devil distract us by letting us fight amongst ourselves and lose focus on the many tragedies happening around the whole. Yes you as an individual might not be able to fight for every cause but even the little you do will help’.
