Northern NPP Cautions CHASS

The Northern regional secretariat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned the Northern regional director of the Ghana Education Service and the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools(CHASS) to desist from what the Secretariat described as “Naked deception regarding the closure of all Senior High Schools in Northern Ghana”.

In a statement issued by the regional secretariat of the NPP and signed by Mr. Salifu Sule the regional secretary, the party has accused the Northern regional director of education, Mr. Haroon Cambodia of hatching a deliberate plan with government ministers on the issue of the reopening of Senior High Schools up North when in reality nothing has been done in concrete terms to ensure that the students receive uninterrupted learning in their schools.

According to the Northern regional secretariat, painstaking investigations it has conducted has revealed that receipt books of the various schools in terms of payments are in the custody of one of the Bursars of a secondary school in Tamale and yet to be submitted to the Scholarship Secretariat in Accra for the next line of action.

The statement has therefore urged all and sundry in the region, especially parents and guardians, to hold the Northern Regional Minister, Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service and the CHASS responsible for the deliberate deception, lies and misinformation regarding the true state of the reopening of Senior Secondary Schools in Northern Ghana.

The release further expressed disgust and indignation about the conduct of the Northern Regional Directorate of Education and the Conference of CHASS for conniving with the government at the expense of the very students who are the reason they are in employment.
