Hajia Alima Blasts Prez Mahama...

The opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Gambaga/Nalerigu Constituency in the Northern Region, Hajia Alima Mahama, has slammed President John Dramani Mahama following his call on Mamprusis to ignore the NPP’s running mate, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia, and vote for him at the 2016 polls.

President Mahama made the plea when he addressed the chiefs and people of Mamprugu land as part of his “Accounting to the people tour” of the Northern Region.

In a sharp rebuttal in a Citi News interview in Nalerigu, the former Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, described President Mahama’s call as an act of desperation and implored her kinsmen to massively vote the NPP at the polls. As a former Member of Parliament for the Gambaga/Nalerigu Constituency who has staged a comeback in the parliamentary race, Hajia Alima asserted that President Mahama has failed the people of Mamprugu land. She said a Nana Addo/Bawumia government will transform the Mamprugu land to an appreciable level as demonstrated by the erstwhile Kufour led NPP administration. She added that, Ghanaians are fed up with President Mahama’s political rhetoric and will kick him out at the polls.

She is optimistic the NPP will win the 2016 elections with overwhelming parliamentary majority with or without a credible voters’ register. We’II resist manipulation of election results – Hajia Alima She nonetheless cautioned the Electoral Commission against any attempt to skew the register in favour of the governing NDC.

She served notice that the NPP will resist any calculated attempt to manipulate the election results. Hajia Alima insisted that, the EC must demonstrate fairness and neutrality in all processes leading to the elections. She vowed to wrestle the seat from the NDC to accomplish her unfinished agenda in the constituency. According to her, women empowerment and girl child education which she started as a former MP are part of her priority areas. She is in the race with her direct cousin on the ticket of the NDC called Alhaji Baba Issifu.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Mamprugu Constituency Executives of the NPP in a statement copied Citi News, condemned President Mahama for attempting to denigrate Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia. The statement signed by the Walewale Constituency NPP Secretary, Simon Ali, cautioned President Mahama against tribal politics.

STOP THE DIRTY TRIBAL POLITICS AGAINST BAWUMIA…

The coalition of Mamprugu constituency Executive of the New Patriotic Party’s attention has been drawn to news headline on the 13th July 2016 edition of citifmonline.com ‘ Ignore Bawumia and vote for me’….John Mahama. The coalition wishes to state that, the people of mamprugu are decending and well informed people who not vote on tribal lines but on achievements of governments and on various policies and programmes of political parties.
The people of mamprugu vote on major developmental indicators such as
1. Improvement on their road infrastructure.
2. Access to health care.
3. Provision of safe portable drinking water.
4. Improvement in agriculture especially the cotton industry which has died a natural death as all the cotton gineries have now turned to worshipping centres.
We are by this statement calling in the president to invest his energies in revamping the collapsed Agro processing factories such as the Zuwaringu meat factory, the Kparigu tomatoes factory, the cotton gineries in Tumu, Tamale and Bolgatanga, the Sheanut processing factory in buipe to help bridge the developmental gap between the North and the south and stop the dirty tribal politics crusade is waging in the north.
