The man suspected to have murdered a farmer in Assin Kushea in the Central has been arrested by the Bekwai Police in Ashanti Region.

Yaw Nkansah, 35 was arrested on board a bus en route to Kumasi after two natives from Assin Kushea, Ali and Abu spotted Yaw Nkansah who had gone missing after butchering the farmer on his farm on Saturday at the back seat of a vehicle.

Ali and Abu were said to be heading to Kumasi to buy a television.

According to Splash FM’s Alfred Amoh, the suspected murderer was seen occupying the back seat of the vehicle.

“And when they spotted him, they told the driver they would want to urinate. It was in the process that they informed the driver that the man at the back seat was a wanted man in Assin Kushea for allegedly murdering a farmer. The driver agreed and thus drove the vehicle to Bekwai Police station where he was handed over to the Police…,” he reported.

The Bekwai Police after arresting him transferred him to Assin Fosu Police which took his statement.

“He told the police in Assin Fosu that he was en route to Bishop Daniel Obinim’s church in Kumasi to go and confess his sins to the man of God who according to him could pray to God for him to forgive him…,” Alfred Amoh reported.

Residents from Assin Kushea upon learning of his arrest rushed to the Assin Fosu Police Station in their numbers.

This caused the Police to transfer him to Cape Coast, the regional capital. Yaw Nkansah, 35, is suspected to have butchered 50-year old Kwame Amissah to death in his farm after the later caught him stealing from his farm.
