Plaintiffs Must Go Back To Court . . . EC's List "Wack & Dubious" - Nana Boakye

NPP Communicator, Nana Boakye has appealed to Abu Ramadan and Evans Nimako, persons who filed a suit against the Electoral Commission (EC) at the Supreme Court, over the ineligibility of some individuals in the voters register to file another suit praying the court to compels the defendant fully comply with its orders.

Commenting on the court ruling to the EC to remove names of individuals who registered with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards from the voters register, Nana Boakye cast shreds of doubt on the Commission's list of NHIS card registrants.

The Commission has released the list of over 56000 persons who used the NHIS card as a form of identification to register as voters.

According to the Commission, it has already deleted the names in compliance with the Supreme Court order and will give the affected persons the opportunity to re-register on Monday, July 18, 2016.

But Nana Boakye has challenged the EC's declaration, claiming the list is "wack and dubious."

He urged the plaintiffs to return to court and insist on the Commission's full compliance with the court order.

“If the Electoral Commission will not do its work well, Ghana has laws binding on everybody which are administered by the courts. So, I am encouraging my brother Abu Ramadan and Evans Nimako to go back to court and challenge the validity of such wack and dubious list that has come out that they are the NHIS registrants."

He further cautioned the Commission not to plunge Ghana into chaos.

"We have a lot of evidence to challenge these things and I will be there to provide them. And there are a lot of people who are there to also help. We will not allow the EC (as the Supreme Court Judge said) to plunge Ghana into chaos.”
