Parliament Orders Graphic Reporter To Appear Before Privileges Committee Of Parliament

Parliament has suspended Mr Mark Anthony Vinorkor Parliamentary Correspondent of the Daily Graphic from reporting on proceedings of the house for the newspaper until further notice and has also summoned him to appear before the Privileges Committee of Parliament for misreporting on proceedings of the house and failing to correct the misinformation published in the Thursday 14th July 2016 edition of the newspaper headlined “Significant event in Parliament”, as ordered by leadership of the house .

The Speaker gave the ruling today after an extensive deliberation on the issue by members . The Deputy Minority Leader and MP for Bimbila Hon Dominic Nitiwul drew the Speaker’s attention to another story written by Mr Mark Anthony Vinorkor and published in today’s edition of the Daily Graphic headlined “Speaker unhappy with Graphic story” .

According to Hon Nitiwul Mr Vinorkor whom leadership of Parliament met on Thursday 14 th July 2016 and was ordered by the leadership to correct the story he wrote which was published on 14th July failed to do so.

He said the publication which centered on C.I 94 which was recently laid before Parliament was factually inaccurate and must therefore be referred to the Privileges Committee of the House.

Rt Hon Edward Doe Adjaho said the House will order the arrest of Mr Mark Anthony Vinorkor if he fails to appear before the Privileges Committee.
