NDC To Dish Out Govt Posts Based On Campaign Efforts

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has entreated its members to take the party’s 2016 campaign seriously.

Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, Joshua Hamidu Akamba says the party has resolved to assign government positions to members based on their role in the party’s second term bid campaign.

“The party is going to look at those who are working very hard and after that, you will be rewarded,” he said.

Mr Akamba disclosed this at Jirapa in the Upper West Region when he addressed party faithful during the launch of the party’s parliamentary candidate, Dr Francis Bawaana Dakurah.

President Mahama has come under attack by some ardent followers of the NDC who have accused him of giving positions to persons who did not toil for the party in 2012.

They openly criticised the President and opposed some District Chief Executives (DCEs) appointed by Mahama.

As the nation heads to the crucial election, Joshua Hamidu Akamba has called on the party members in Jirapa to own the 2016 campaign of the party.

He said the days when persons are appointed to occupy government positions without considering their efforts and commitment to the party is long gone.

“Never again are you going to complain that ‘No, no, we didn’t know this man [and] he became the DCE’ it is not going to happen again,” he said.

The party, he said, will choose people to positions based on their efforts in ensuring the victory of President Mahama and the parliamentary candidates.

He has promised the youth that when they take charge of the campaign and President Mahama is retained, they would not be forgotten this time around.
