Victor Smith Confirms Interest In Abuakwa North Seat

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) has expressed interest in contesting the Abuakwa North seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the resignation of the party’s parliamentary candidate.

Speaking on Atinka FM Tuesday with Kaakyere Ofori Ayim, Mr Victor Smith who was once the Eastern Regional Minister under late President Mills, mentioned that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has done massively well in terms of developments and other projects in Abuakwa North and that he is willing to contest the seat to continue the good works the party is doing in the constituency.

According to Victor Smith, the party will open nominations on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 and that he is considering picking up nomination forms on that day.

He said he is ready to pick nomination forms and work towards the betterment of Abuakwa North and Ghana. He added that due to the good works of president Mahama, the party has a chance of winning the elections.

Asked about the allegation that he bribed the parliamentary candidate with One million cedis for him to step down, Victor Smith mentioned that if he had enough money he would use it to help build the constituency instead of giving it to one person to enjoy.
