New MP For Abetifi Sworn In

The new Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi Hon Bryan Acheampong was sworn into Parliament today by the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Edward Doe Adjaho.

The Speaker administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of a Member of Parliament to the new MP.

Hon Bryan Acheampong worn the bye-election organized by the EC last week following the death of Hon Peter Wiafe Peprah former MP for Abetifi.

Advising the new MP, the Minority Leader Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu emphasized the need for him to quickly learn about proceedings of the House to enable him contribute effectively to business of Parliament. He was optimistic that Hon Acheampong will retain the Abetifi seat in the 2016 election.

Advising his new colleague, Deputy Majority Leader and MP for Ashiaman Hon Alfred Agbeshie also urged Hon Acheampong to learn about Parliamentary proceedings as fast as possible and always serve the interest of all his constituents and the country.

He however cautioned that it will not be easy for Hon Acheampong to retain the Abetifi seat in the 2016 election as it will be keenly contested.

Later in an interview with journalists Hon Bryan Acheampong pledged to work hard to promote the interest of Abetifi and the country .
