Antwi tips Pogba for FIFA Ballon d'Or

The Porcupine Warriors shot-stopper has tipped the France midfielder to become the next world’s best following his tremendous development.

Eric Ofori Antwi, Ghana goalkeeper at the 2013 Fifa World Youth Championship in Turkey, claims France and Juventus star Paul Pogba could be the world’s next biggest football star.

The Kotoko shot-stopper claims the box-to-box midfielder could be the next Ballon d'Or winner after the era of Ronaldo and Messi.

Pogba captained France U20 to defeat Ghana U20 in the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship after Florin Thauvin's brace cancelled out Ebenezer Assifuah's opener as they marched on to win the title.

"Paul Pogba has become a complete player over the few years and I'm happy for him. When I played against him in the youth World Cup in 2013, he was a first team player for a big club like Juventus at a young age and clearly the outstanding player at the tournament. He has never looked back," Antwi told Goal.

"I think Pogba can end the era of Ronaldo and Messi to become the next world best in future because anything is possible in football. If you've monitored his development, it's enviable," he added.

Antwi also insisted that agents of young Ghanaian players have not done enough to push them to the limelight.

“Our agents have not been helpful compared to those of European players, who we played against in the past. The agents in Europe push their players to top clubs and negotiate well for them to gain playing time for their development but ours are usually slow.

“They always fail to land their clients lucrative deals at big clubs and even if you're fortunate to get one, playing time becomes scarce to help the player to develop and become a star in the future,” he noted.
